Anti-personnel mines POMZ-2M, OZM-72, MON-50: characteristics. Abstract

Anti-infantry fragment fragmentation mine of circular damage. Designed to disable the enemy personnel

Anti-infantry fragment fragmentation mine of circular damage is an improved modification of the anti-personnel mine POMZ-2.

Mine structure. The POMZ-2M mine consists of the following main parts: a cast-iron case having notches for the best formation of fragments, an adjusting peg by means of which the mine is fixed in the earth, a 75-gram TNT drill -5M, a piece of wire 7-8 meters long and an additional peg to secure the wire.

The main difference of the early modification of the anti-personnel mine POMZ-2 is the presence of inflow in the upper part of the hull to install the detonator series MUV. The detonator is used with the MD-2 fuse and is inserted into the inlet. The POMZ-2M anti-personnel mine has a thread in the inner part of the hull to secure the detonator. The detonator of the MUV series is screwed with the MD-5M fuse and the latter is screwed into the mine body by means of a thread.

Mine installation. To set the mine POMZ-2M is in the following sequence:

at a distance of 5-7 meters from the place of installation of the mine to kill a peg of a stretcher (if on the area there are local subjects to which it is possible to tie a stretcher, a peg do not hammer); tie a tension wire to an additional peg (local object) and stretch it with a slack; stretch the stretch towards the mine; to drive a setting peg at the place of mine laying, the peg should rise above the ground to a height of 5-7 cm; insert a 75-g TNT drill into the mine body with an incendiary socket towards a small hole; put the body of the mine with a wide hole on the mounting peg until it stops in the checker; screw MD-5M fuse into the MUV-2 detonator; screw the detonator and fuse assembly into the mine body; when using the MUV detonator, put a safety tube on the drummer rod before installing it in the mine body, and insert a pin into the upper hole of the drummer. Attention: due to the small effort to pull out the combat P-shaped checks of the detonator MUV mine installation is associated with great danger; tie the free end of the wire extension to the P-shaped combat checks of the detonator MUV-2; disguise the mine under the background of the surrounding area; remove the safety check of the detonator MUV-2 – the mine is installed. Note: When using the MUV breaker, carefully pull out the safety check and remove the safety tube.

Note: The degree of safety of the mine installation depends on the type of detonator of the MUV series.

For example, when using detonators MUV-2, MUV-3 from the moment of pulling out the safety check to the moment of placing the detonator on the combat platoon, depending on the ambient temperature takes from 3 minutes. (at + 40 degrees) up to 59 years (at -40 degrees).

Mine combat work. Defeat a person (or several at a time) is caused by fragments of the mine body when it is detonated at the moment when the enemy soldier, hooking his foot on the wire stretcher involuntarily pulls out the combat check of the detonator. When pulling out the combat check, the drummer is released and under the action of the combat spring pierces the fuse MD-5M. As a result, a mine is detonated.

The term of combat operation of the mine is not limited. The mine is not equipped with a self-destruct. There are no elements of non-extraction and safety, but the very high sensitivity of the MUV detonator (if used) makes mine disposal extremely dangerous.

Mines are packed in boxes of 22 pcs. (gross weight 50 kg.) not fully equipped.

At present, the POMZ-2M mine is not manufactured, it is not listed in the supply lists of troops, but all its components except the cast iron hull are listed in the tables as mine-explosive property and are widely used in other mines, subversive business. And the production of cast iron buildings can be organized in a few days or even hours. Therefore, this mine has not been removed from the army.

Tactical and technical characteristics of the mine

Anti-personnel mine OZM-72 (short description)

Mine anti-personnel fragmentary circular lesion jumping tension action. Designed to disable the enemy personnel.

Mine structure. Mine OZM-72 consists of a steel body with a charge of explosives placed in it, ready-made downhole elements (2400 rollers or balls); explosive powder charge; tension cable, internal trigger mechanism, ignition.

Mine combat work. when the wire tension is stretched, the MUV-3 detonator is triggered and the igniter capsule is pricked; fire ignites an explosive charge; under the action of powder gases, the housing is ejected from the guide glass, while the cable is unwound; when the mine body reaches a height equal to the length of the cable, the combat spring is compressed, the wedge-shaped lock releases the striker, which under the action of the combat spring pierces the igniter capsule, detonator capsule No. 8-A explodes , additional detonator and mine charge; fragments enclosed in the body, flying to the sides, cause damage.

It can be set for non-extraction with the help of a mini-surprise MS -3 or homemade mini-surprises.

Mines are packed in boxes of 6 pcs. (gross weight 54 kg.) not fully equipped (without MUV detonators and detonator capsules # 8A, which mine is equipped at the installation site). However, detonators and detonator capsules are placed in a box at the factory.

The mine can also be used with the MBE-72 detonator, which has a target sensor in the form of an inconspicuous thin breakaway dart. In this case, the life of the mine is limited by the shelf life of the battery type “373”.

When installing a mine, keep in mind that when the soil freezes by 10-16 dm. Gunpowder will not be able to detonate a mine and the explosion will not occur. The mine is used both independently and is included in the set of explosive device NVU-P (5 mines), which is also called “Hunting Kit”.

Anti-personnel mine MON-50

Mine anti-personnel fragmentation-directed damage, controlled. Designed to disable the enemy personnel. Developed in 1966 on the model of the American mine M18A1 “Claymore”.

Mine structure. The body of the mine has the shape of a horizontally curved parallelepiped, equipped with a charge of explosive brand PPR-4 and a set of finished downhole elements located on the side of the convex plane of the body of the mine. The front convex side of the mine is concave vertically, which provides the optimal height of the fragments – about 4 meters write lab reports for me. The mine is equipped with two sockets with a carving for installation of various detonators. The mines are not equipped with detonators. When transporting nests are closed by special stoppers.

The design of the mine allows the use of detonators of the MUV series with incendiaries MD-2 and MD-5M, detonator MVE-72 and electric detonator EDP-R. The mine has a sighting slit in the upper part for accurate aiming and determination of the sector of damage. The mine is equipped with four legs with which the mine is installed on the ground.
